Braxfield Recruitment is working with a local authority in North London to find an interim Fire Safety Surveyor on a 6 – 12 month contract.
You'll make sure fire safety works across the council's housing stock are done properly. You'll check that actions from Fire Risk Assessments are completed to the right standard and keep residents safe in communal areas.
The role
- Inspect and sign off remedial works recommended in Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs)
- Quality-check contractor works for compliance, workmanship and specification
- Inspect fire doors, including flat entrance doors and communal fire doors
- Identify and report fire safety issues in communal areas, such as obstructions, compartmentation breaches and defective fire stopping
- Keep accurate inspection records and report progress to the building safety team
- Liaise with contractors, residents and colleagues to resolve issues
About you
- Experience as a fire safety surveyor or inspector, ideally in social housing or a local authority
- Good working knowledge of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and the Building Safety Act
- Experience with fire door inspections; a fire door inspection qualification is desirable
- A relevant fire safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, IFE membership or equivalent) is an advantage
- Able to travel to properties across the borough
