Braxfield have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Safety Surveyor to join a residential social landlord to support them in the delivery of fire safety works to high and mid-sized blocks. They are rolling out a number of major works programmes to update and improve the safety and quality of properties for their customers.
The Housing Association is investing heavily in modernising the housing stock to improve the living conditions and safety of their residents. Projects will include retrofitting or upgrading existing equipment, adding additional fire stopping, removing / replacing external cladding, new windows and fire doors.
The successful applicant will work closely with the senior Project Manager each looking after their own improvement projects whilst liaising with other departments to draw on their strengths to collectively deliver great outcomes for residents.
Although based out of the office in Surrey there will be a requirement to regularly visit projects to liaise with the contractors and consultants, to scope works, inspect works whilst in progress and also once completed. You will also need to carry out monthly completed work valuations and authorise work variations.
To succeed in this role you will need to be an experienced Fire Safety Surveyor within the housing sector and have the ability to communicate well with consultants and residents to successfully deliver large projects on time and within budget. You will have to work closely and professionally with both internal and external organisations and possess an excellent understanding of the interface between the Major Works team, Housing Management and day to day repairs teams. You will also need to demonstrate a high standard of customer service.
