Are you passionate about improving living conditions for residents and tackling issues such as damp and mould? Join our Housing Association client as a Surveyor to assess and address damp and mould problems in residential properties. This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your expertise in building surveying and property assessments to make a tangible impact on residents' health and well-being.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive surveys of housing association properties to assess and diagnose issues related to dampness, mould growth, and associated problems.
  • Utilise advanced surveying techniques, equipment and tools to accurately measure and analyse moisture levels and identify the causes of damp and mould.
  • Identify potential structural defects, ventilation issues, or building maintenance problems that contribute to damp and mould growth.
  • Collaborate with housing association staff, contractors, and maintenance teams to develop effective strategies and solutions to mitigate and prevent damp and mould issues.
  • Provide detailed reports documenting survey findings, including recommendations for remedial actions and long-term prevention strategies.
  • Liaise with residents, addressing their concerns, explaining survey findings, and providing guidance on how to prevent and manage damp and mould in their homes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to damp and mould assessments and remediation.
  • Support the development and implementation of education and awareness programs to promote resident understanding and cooperation in preventing damp and mould.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Surveyor or Building Consultant, with a focus on dampness and mould assessments in residential properties.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, materials, and the causes of dampness and mould growth.
  • Proficiency in using surveying tools and equipment to measure and assess moisture levels, humidity, and building conditions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant building regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices related to dampness and mould prevention and remediation.
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify the root causes of dampness and mould issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey survey findings, recommendations, and technical information to stakeholders, including residents and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using digital tools and software for recording and reporting survey findings.
  • Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in building surveying or related fields would be advantageous.
  • A commitment to improving living conditions and promoting the health and well-being of residents in housing communities.
