Braxfield is recruiting to an exciting new opportunity for a permanent Building Surveyor based in Northwest London. The role

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving property related risks, disrepair cases and complex maintenance cases, putting controls in place, and ensuring those controls are maintained. Carrying out detailed surveys and drawing up specifications of work for residential and commercial assets.

You will produce detailed specification and tender documents for repairs, planned improvement and corrective works in line with current regulations and legislation and procure works contracts to achieve best value, efficiency, and best practice in line with tendering procedures.

Other duties will include collecting information for and manage key performance indicators to monitor contractor performance both in-house and through contractual appointment, managing property reinvestment projects using a variety of contractor-based procurement models in the housing providers stock and carrying out other on-going professional building surveying duties including party walls, boundary disputes, disrepair and statutory notices and lease management.

What you’ll need

• HNC in Construction, HND in Construction and Property. A building topic-based Degree or other property focussed industry recognised qualification.
• Experience of working with contractors and sub-contractors.
• Knowledge of asset management databases.
• Experience of working in the housing sector.
• Full UK licence with access to a vehicle.
