Assistant Fire Safety Officer

Braxfield Recruitment have been appointed by a large social housing provider in London that are looking for an Assistant Fire Safety Officer to join their dedicated Fire and Building Safety Team. 

The Assistant Fire Safety Officer role will suit someone who has experience within a property services environment in housing and has already gained an understanding around H&S legislation and in particular, fire management.

The successful candidate will assist with managing and ensuring the organisation fulfils its obligation to be compliant with the Regulatory Reform (fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Order Bill 2020, the Building Safety Bill 2020 and any future relevant legislation. They will ensure that the buildings and the organisation are compliant with their individual Building Safety Cases and assist with establishing and maintaining scheme specific lines of communication with residents so that all queries can be dealt with in a timely fashion.

Duties will include undertaking fire safety related inspections of communal areas and dwellings within blocks to monitor fire safety. Reporting back to the compliance managers with any areas of concern or improvements that can be made. Additionally the successful candidate will be required to carry out pre and post inspections to ensure fire related works such as signage or clearing areas has been done satisfactorily.

As the role progresses the organisation will encourage the post holder to support non-technical colleagues in other departments with any fire related questions or training they might require.
